Parent Teacher Council of
Stamford, Connecticut
The PTC is made up of a Executive Board
and a representative from all 20 Stamford Public Schools
grades K-12. The PT Council provides workshops, leadership
development, information, and programs; coordinates
programs and projects of member units; and works to
promote parent-teacher partnerships in the school district
and wider community.
Our Goals
- To unify and strengthen the local PTOs.
- To promote an environment in which every student
has the opportunity to grow intellectually, socially
and emotionally.
- Engage information and best practice sharing amongst
schools.
- To promote a close relationship between the home
and the school, so parents, guardians, teachers, school
staff and school administrators may cooperate in the
education and enrichment of the students.
- Vehicle to voice concerns amongst the schools.

Our
Mission Statement
Parent Teacher Council of Stamford and its member schools
share the common goals of:
- Promoting the welfare of children and youth in their
schools and communities
- Bringing the home and the school into closer cooperation
in the education of children.
- Providing opportunities for faculty and parents
to exchange information that will enhance the educational
environment for all children.
- Enhancing the school’s curricular and after school
programming to enrich the student’s education.
This Mission Statement and your by-laws should guide
all of your work and decisions. The Mission Statement
was created when applying for the tax-exempt status
and it is important that your PTO follow this mission.
